Webz.io Website Redesign

Redefining the company’s digital presence through user-centric structure, strategic segmentation, and visual brand evolution.

Project Overview 

Webz.io, a leading provider of structured web data, sought to revamp its website to better align with its evolving product offerings and target audiences. The existing site presented all products uniformly, causing confusion among users with distinct needs. The goal was to create a more intuitive, segmented experience that would guide users to relevant information efficiently.

Challenge 

Audience Segmentation

The original homepage presented all product offerings in a unified block, without differentiating between distinct user segments:

  • Open Web API Clients
    Interested in data from news, blogs, and social media.

  • Dark Web API Clients:
    Focused on cybersecurity and threat intelligence data.

  • Lunar Platform Users:
    Analysts requiring a dedicated dark web investigation platform.

Previously, the website did not differentiate between these groups, leading to a convoluted user journey.
 

Navigation Complexity

Users struggled to find information pertinent to their needs due to the undifferentiated presentation of products.
 

Brand Evolutione

The company's shift from "web data for machines" to a more human-centric approach necessitated a visual and structural overhaul of the website.

UX Solution 

To address these challenges:

 

Segmented Homepage

Introduced three prominent product tiles on the homepage—Open Web API, Dark Web API, and Lunar. Each tile directs users to a dedicated sub-homepage tailored to their specific interests.

Dedicated Sub-Homepages

Each sub-homepage provides focused content, visuals, and calls-to-action relevant to the respective audience segment.

​

Improved User Journey

This segmentation allowed users to self-identify and navigate directly to the information they sought, reducing friction and enhancing the overall user experience.

Recognizing the need for a visual identity that resonated with the new direction.

Visual Identity Adaptation

While the core branding elements (logo, colors, typography) were developed by external designers, I adapted and expanded upon them to suit the website's needs, ensuring consistency and relevance across all pages.

Human-Centric Design

Shifted from abstract, machine-oriented visuals to more approachable, human-centric imagery and illustrations, aligning with the company's new focus.

Performance Optimization

Replaced heavy video content with optimized images and subtle animations to enhance page load speeds and overall performance.

Interactive Prototypes

Interactive prototypes help assess visual impact and define the design direction of a website’s main page, ensuring a seamless user experience before development.

Wireframes

I created detailed wireframes for all Webz.io pages, defining structure and user flow for a seamless experience.

Design System

A comprehensive design system in Figma, including UI components, typography, colors, and spacing guidelines. This ensures design consistency, scalability, and efficient collaboration with developers.

The homepage is sleek, engaging, and functional, effectively communicating Webz.io’s value. Its modern, user-friendly design helps visitors quickly understand the company's web data solutions. The main section features three large cards highlighting key offerings: Open Web APIs, Dark Web APIs, and Lunar, each clearly showcasing unique features.

Open Web API Page

The Open Web API Page is designed to showcase the breadth, quality, and enrichment of its data services, emphasizing structured, high-quality insights from open web sources.

Lunar Page

The Lunar page effectively presents the Lunar platform as a cutting-edge dark web monitoring and threat intelligence tool. The design follows a structured layout that highlights key features and benefits of the platform.

Detect Leaked Data

This page helps users identify compromised data, breaches, stolen credentials, and malware threats. Its modern design highlights key information with clear sections and graphs to enhance readability and risk understanding.

Blog & Knowledge Pages

The design of the Webz.io Blog & Knowledge pages is user-friendly and visually appealing, ensuring users can easily navigate and find the content they are interested in.

Diverse Website Pages

During development, numerous pages were created, each with unique functions, purposes, and designs. From informational sections to interactive tools, every element balances usability and brand identity, ensuring a seamless experience.

The new Webz.io website launched in February 2025 , and within the first month, the results were significant:
